Mulching that
actually keeps water in.
Canberra summers are brutal on garden beds. Good mulch — applied properly, at the right depth, at the right time of year — cuts your watering bill, suppresses weeds, and makes the whole garden look finished.
When to
top up.
Canberra needs two mulch top-ups a year: October (going into summer — locks moisture in for the worst of it) and April (insulates roots from frost). On Total Property Care both top-ups are included.
What's
included.
- Mulch supplied and delivered to your property
- Existing beds cleared of weeds and old broken-down mulch (if requested)
- Fresh mulch spread to even 75mm depth
- Edges raked clean — no mulch on lawn or paths
- All wrappers, pallets and packaging removed
Mulch types we
supply.
Eucy chip
The premium look. Coarse, long-lasting, sits well on slopes. 75mm depth recommended.
Sugar cane
For veggie patches and new garden beds. Breaks down into soil — feeds plants over a season.
Pine bark
The classic finished look for ornamental beds. Lasts longer than hardwood.
Lucerne
For productive beds. Rich, nitrogen-bearing, top of the food chain for hungry plants.
What it costs.
One-off mulch jobs are quoted per cubic metre supplied + labour. For a typical Inner North property with 40m² of garden bed, a full mulch refresh runs $480–$640 plus product.
For ongoing care, Total Property Care ($880/month) includes both seasonal top-ups, weed prep, and product supply — no separate invoice.
